The Firebird V-3™ is a third generation of vortex combustion technology.
Previous versions have been used in various applications such as complete and
safe incineration of nuclear waste materials, infectious waste, and various
types of hazardous waste programs. Earlier versions of this system are
currently installed in over 14 countries worldwide.
Our Senior Engineer, who is the inventor of this technology, has adapted this
system to work with municipal waste incineration, as well as medical,
industrial, and other applications, such as woody biomass combustion. Like the two versions before it, the V-3™
produces no harmful emissions, odors, or even smoke, and needs no scrubbers to
clean the exhaust, meeting all EPA standards for air quality.
Although there are numerous applications in which this system can be
utilized, the three primary uses that we are focusing on are: 1) Woody
biomass (forest thinning), 2) Municipal
waste incineration with energy recapture, and 3) Landfill reclamation
The overall system can be tailored to each project's needs and
specifications. While the primary unit stays consistent, the peripheral
devices, such as chippers, shredders, boilers, and steam turbines, are readily available
in a variety of configurations to match the goals and needs of each community or
landfill project.

The process of energy recapture begins with the
collection of the "fuel," either cut timber, or
solid waste such as municipal, industrial, or
hospital, medical, infectious waste. Depending
on the breakdown of the material to be used, the next phase is
the introduction of sorting and shredding (or
chipping in the case of wood).
From there, the material is conveyed to the
incinerator, which burns at temperatures exceeding
2,000° F.
That powerful exhaust flow is then processed
with a heat recovery generator, or boiler, which
produces the steam used by the turbine to produce
electricity. This process has been used for
generations, with communities receiving this
low-cost energy resource. What makes our
program different is the powerful, yet efficient
vortex incineration that does not give off harmful
gases and emissions, odors, or even smoke. |

A special word about landfill reclamation:
|
Landfills have played an important role in our
waste management issues for decades.
However, what once was thought to be a permanent
solution to our waste disposal, has become an
environmental and even a political hot spot.
Currently in the U.S., there are more than 3,000
active landfills, and nearly 10,000 old municipal
sites. Not only are these old sites
continuing to contaminate our communities through
gaseous emissions and leachates, but they are also
extreme eyesores and a waste of valuable property.
Our Firebird V-3™ can be used as an
eco-friendly device to process the land. Not
only is it safe for the environment and the
community, but by eliminating the ongoing
polluting and harmful effects, we can literally
reverse the process to once again regain our
precious and delicate natural resources. |
